A Michigan man accused of driving with a suspended license took part in a virtual hearing while behind the wheel, surprising a presiding judge. A video of the trial, which has since gone viral, shows the defendant, Corey Harris, in a vehicle while connected to a Zoom call. Judge Cedric Simpson, unable to hide his shock, asked if Harris was driving. “I’m actually going to my doctor’s office, actually,” Harris said. “So just give me a second. I’m parking now.” Simpson confirmed to prosecutors that Harris’ trial was for driving with a suspended license.”I look at his record, he doesn’t have a license.” Simpson said. “He’s suspended, he’s driving.” “I don’t know why he would do that,” Simpson continued. “The defendant’s bond in this matter is therefore revoked.” Simpson ordered Harris to commit himself to the county jail later that day.
