LOMOND Ellen Elizabeth (Nellie) July 28th, 1939 – Aug. 31st, 2019 It is with great sadness that the family of the late Ellen Elizabeth (Nellie) Lomond announces her passing on Saturday, August 31st, 2019, at the Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre in Port aux Basques, NL at the age of 80 years. Born in Mouse Island, NL, Nellie was the daughter of William and Berthina (nee Edmunds) Osmond. Nellie leaves behind her loving husband of 58 years Gerald, children Terry (Janet) Osmond of Port Aux Basques, NL, Jeffery (Sylvia) Lomond of Mount Pearl, NL, Sharon Gallant of Lower Sackville NS, Raymond (Michelle) Lomond of Beaver Bank, NS. Nellie will forever remain in the hearts of her grandchildren Jennifer, Nadine, Jeanette, Samantha, Joshua, Katie, Mitchell and her great grandchildren Lucas, Loyal, Jenna Anne, Kimberly and Dawson; sister Evelyn (Roland) Kettle; brothers Alex (Karen) Osmond, Jerry (Susie) Osmond, Charlie (Jessie) Osmond all of Port Aux Basques, NL, John (Sarah) Osmond of Searston, NL, Ron (Mary) Osmond of Kingston, NS, Arch (Ann) Osmond of Florence, NS, Ralph Osmond of Lewin’s Cove, NL, Wilson (Winetta) Osmond of Sarina, ON; brothers-in-law John (Nina) Lomond, Freeman Lomond; sister-in-law Winetta Lomond all of Port aux Basques, NL plus a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends. During her lifetime Nellie has touched the lives of many people within the community with her involvement with the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 11 and the Ladies Auxiliary, she truly was a gift to everyone. Flowers will be graciously accepted or donations can be made to St. James Anglican Church. Visitation took place on Sunday, September 1st and Monday, September 2nd from 2-4 and 7-9pm at East Haven Funeral Home Inc. Funeral service was held on Tuesday, September 3rd at 2pm at St. James Anglican Church Channel, officiated by Rev. Clayton Billard. In keeping with Nellie’s wishes cremation was followed, interment to follow at a later date.
