GRAND BANK, NL – An ongoing RCMP investigation has resulted in additional charges against Winston Baker, 39, of Grand Bank.
Police charged Baker with mischief, five counts of careless use of a firearm, tampering with a vehicle identification number, possession of property obtained by crime and breach of recognizance following the execution of a search warrant on a residence in Grand Bank on March 15.
At that time, police seized a number of stolen items, including firearms, swords and knives, and an ATV.
Baker was remanded into custody during a hearing at Grand Bank Provincial Court on March 20.
According to the RCMP, an additional search warrant on multiple residences has since resulted in the seizure of a large number of items that are believed to have also been stolen.
They include a second ATV, chainsaws, other power tools, a generator, a water pump, an outboard motor and various other items.
The total number of charges against Baker, including those laid on March 15, has climbed to 25, the RCMP indicated.
Police are now trying to identify the owners of the items.
