Gander and Area Chamber of Commerce hands out business awards

The Gander and Area Chamber of Commerce handed out the 19th annual Joe and Clarice Goodyear Business Achievement awards on Nov. 27. The Gander and Area Chamber of Commerce recognized some of the best and brightest business and businesses owners earlier this week. 

On Nov. 27, the chamber held the 19th annual Joe and Clarice Goodyear Business Achievement Awards gala at the Quality Inn Hotel & Suites. 

In all, the group handed out eight awards, including the inaugural Women in Business awards. 

The chamber also gave out a $500 scholarship to Katelyn Goodyear, who is enrolled in the bachelor of commerce program at Memorial University.  

The award winners are: 
• Joe and Clarice Goodyear Business Achievement Award — The Old Salt Box Co. (Fogo Island); 
• Business of the Year — The Anchor Inn and Suites (Twillingate); 
• Customer Service Award — Mr. T’s Ultramar (Gander); 
• Helping Hands Award — Paws-N-Shop (Gander); 
• Environmental Award — Experience Twillingate (Twillingate); 
• Small Business Award — Hare Bay Adventures (Hare Bay); 
• Women in Business Awards — Nicole Keats, The Newfoundland Tea Co. (Gander) and Krystle West, X-Height Zone (Gander).
