UPDATED: South Branch to Burnt Islands, part of Port aux Basques power outage changes again

PORT AUX BASQUES, N.L. – Newfoundland Power has the announced planned power outages for several areas along the southwest coast that was set for Oct. 11 and then rescheduled to Oct. 16 has been changed yet again. Due to the weather forecast, which calls for heavy rains and strong winds, the outage will now occur on Wednesday, Oct. 17 instead.

Areas that will be affected are the Grand Bay West subdivision in Port aux Basques, South Branch, Codroy, Codroy Valley, Doyles, Searston, O’Regan’s, St. Andrews, Isle aux Morts and Burnt Islands.

The outages are planned for 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. and are necessary so that Newfoundland Hydro teams can perform repairs.
