Port aux Basques driver facing charges including having cannabis readily available during traffic stop near Gallants

On Friday, Nov. 2 RCMP Traffic Services West were patrolling in the area of Gallants on the Trans-Canada Highway and stopped a vehicle for travelling 127 km/h in a 100 km/h zone.

While speaking with the driver and one other male occupant, open liquor and cannabis products were noted and seized.

The driver, a 21-year-old man from Port aux Basques, was charged with speeding between 21 and 30 km/h over the posted limit; cannabis readily available in a motor vehicle and open liquor in a motor vehicle.
