Volunteers are needed to help out with the Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital Foundation’s Radiothon taking place on Sept. 28.

The event is being broadcast on 870 AM Radio from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. that day with a goal of raising $118,000.

That amount would complete the purchase of a medicine cabinet, along with hand hygiene monitors and a Sterrad NX Machine, the latter item used for the sterilization of medical equipment.

The radiothon is being held at the BCJ Tax Centre on West Street in Stephenville.

Volunteer tasks include assistance with receiving donor pledges by telephone, providing receipts for payments and organizing/filing all donor pledge forms.

If you’d like to help out at the radiothon, please call the foundation office at

Pledges on radiothon day can be called in at 643-5555 or dropped off at the location of the event at 60 West St.
