What we see: According to the latest National Hurricane Center (NHC) Outlook, a broad low pressure area is located in the western Caribbean Sea near the “X” to the east on the map below. Scattered showers and thundershowers will occur during this time.

Another area that eventually terminates in the southwestern Gulf of Mexico is highlighted by an “X” off the coast of southeastern Mexico near the Gulf of Tehuantepec.

(A third area could develop along the Pacific coast of southwestern Mexico and bring heavy rain outside areas flooded by Hurricane John last week, but not move into the Gulf of Mexico.)
