St. James Saints earn berth at volleyball provincials

The St. James Saints earned a spot at the AAA girls varsity volleyball provincials with their win at the qualifying tournament in Piccadilly Nov. 20. The St. James Regional High Saints will take a crack at a provincial girls volleyball title after cruising through the regional qualifier.

The team dominated the competition at the AAA Western qualifying tournament in Piccadilly Nov. 20.

The Saints opened the tournament with a 25-4, 25-12 win over Templeton Academy of Meadows.

They followed that with a 25-6, 25-9 win over Appalachia High of St. George's.

The Saints finished up the round robin with a 25-12, 25-3 win over host Piccadilly Central High.

In the final, the girls faced Templeton and came away with a straight-set victory. 25-12, 25-9.

The team will head to Lethbridge on Dec. 2 for provincials.
