Sisters Tori and Samantha Dominix are both members of the Blaze U20 Provincial Championship team.

Sisters Samantha and Tori Dominix were a force to be reckoned with on the ice at the 2017 Steele Hotels All Newfoundland & Labrador Under 20 Female Provincial tournament.

Samantha, 18, and Tori, 15, were both members of the gold medal winning Port aux Basques Blaze. The sisters each won Player of the Game honours during the mega tournament, held over the span of three days in Rocky Harbour.

The Division B champs won gold before back in 2013.

Samantha has been playing hockey for 11 years.

“I like to win,” said the winger, whose aspirations lean more towards studying psychology rather than becoming the next Hayley Wickenheiser. “I just play hockey for fun.”

Goaltender Tori has been playing for seven years, and like her older sister, also plays on the boys’ team.

“I like how competitive it is,” she said.

The sisters were part of a team of 10 girls that defeated Gander in the final of the provincial tournament.
