CLEAN UP - Burgeo Tidy Towns Action Team and Ocean Net will celebrate World Oceans Day on Tuesday from 9:30-11:30am. Meet at Burgeo Museum at 9 a.m. to register and to get your garbage bags and work gloves. People all over the world will be celebrating this event and Ocean Net, along with our groups of amazing and dedicated volunteers who will be getting involved by taking action once again to help protect our coastlines and oceans.
SOUNDS FOR SPRING - Members of the St. James' High School Band practice for their upcoming Spring Concert "Sounds for Spring." The concert will take place at the high school gym on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. In addition to the band's performance, the concert will feature instrumental groups, vocalists, pianists and guitarists. RELAY FOR LIFE - The Port aux Basques annual Relay for Life is Saturday. Let's get together and celebrate cancer survivors and honour those living with or touched by cancer. To purchase a luminary candle in memory of a loved one or in honour of a survivor contact Lorna Coffin 695-7188 or Sue Osmond 695-2539. RIDE FOR SIGHT - The annual Newfoundland Ride for Sight takes place on June 26-28. Gordon Leamon will be at the Grand Bay Mall from June 16-19 if you wish to make a donation to help find a cure for blindness. For more information or to donate, call Gordon at 695-3385.
TRAINING SESSION - The Arthritis Society is looking for volunteer leaders for the Arthritis Self-Management Program. Applications for the three-day training session in Corner Brook in September are now being accepted. For more information call Donna at 1-800-321-1433.

BOOKS WANTED - The LeGrow Hospital Auxiliary is looking for used books and pocket novels. To donate, contact Karina at 695-9643 or Pat at 695-9608.
LEAP CENTRE - Monday and Tuesday at 4:30 are cooking nights, game nights will be held on Thursday 6-8 p.m., Friday is activity night from 6-9 p.m. and Saturday is movie nights from 7-9 p.m.
GIFT SHOP - Volunteers are needed to help operate the LeGrow Hospital gift shop, open daily from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Call Mary Mushrow at 695-7210 or Pat King at 695-9608 for details. Also, anyone wishing to knit items for the Hospital Gift Shop, with wool supplied, can call 695-2404 or 695-7210.
PENSIONERS MEETING - A general meeting of CN and MA Pensioners Association will be held on the fourth Thursday of every month at 2 p.m. All members are requested to attend.
ORANGE LODGE - A Royal Williams #20 meeting is held every second Thursday of each month. The LOBA Daughters of Channel 819 meet on the first and third Thursdays of every month. The RBP 1161 meet every fourth Thursday of the month.

- St. Ann's Centre in Upper Ferry is hosting bingo every Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. and every Sunday at 2:30 p.m. For more information call Phil Downey at 955-2528.

CARD GAMES:

- The Royal Canadian Legion holds card games on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 2 p.m., as well there is a cribbage The Lions Club hosts a card game game on Mondays at 8 p.m.
- Gateway Senior Citizens Club card game is held Mondays at 8:30 p.m.
