Evidence of moose strikes were visible on the Trans-Canada Highway (TCH) in the Codroy Valley area on Friday, May 12.

Evidence of a moose strike is visible on the Trans-Canada Highway near Doyles service road.

A moose carcass was spotted lying beside the highway near Coopers Brook while fur and blood stained pavement are visible a few minutes down the road.

It’s not just restricted to the TCH. Facebook posts by area residents have mentioned recent sightings of moose wandering around ponds and in some cases along the roadway on Route 470 near Burnt Islands.
