If you’re looking forward to camping at your favourite provincial park in Newfoundland and Labrador this year, April 25 is the date to circle on your calendar.

That’s the day reservations will start to be accepted on the Provincial Parks Campsite Reservation Service for the 2018 season. The system will go live early at 7 a.m.

The number of seasonal campsites has been increased at six provincial parks this year – Barachois Pond, Butter Pot, Frenchman’s Cove, La Manche, Lockston Path and Notre Dame.

The summer storage fee for parks has also been reduced from $10 per night to $5.

Seven of the provincial park campgrounds are scheduled to open for the Victoria Day weekend. The other six are slated to open in late May or early June.

Campsites can be reserved by calling toll-free 1-877-214-CAMP (2267) or visiting www.nlcamping.ca. User profiles, a requirement to make a campsite reservation, can be created or updated on the site as of April 17.
