PLACENTIA, NL — The sixth annual Age Friendly Expo in Placentia is set to return next month.

Organized by the Placentia Area Chamber of Commerce (PACC), the event is being held May 11-12 at the Placentia Unity PARC Arena.

An event designed to appeal to folks young and old, the expo will feature guest speakers, information booths and interactive activities for the whole family.

This year’s edition also kicks off a week early on May 4 at the Star of the Sea Hall with an all-ages talent competition at 7 p.m. Local performer Kevin Collins will host the event.

The expo will conclude May 12 with the Volunteer Recognition Awards at the Star of the Sea Hall.

PACC’s Age Friendly NL advisory group met with the Town of Placentia earlier this year to discuss making the community more age friendly. The two groups have agreed to collaborate on both business and community assessment surveys. These surveys would help identify ways to make Placentia more inclusive for people of all ages.
