Marystown Mayor Sam Synard

Marystown Mayor Sam Synard is apparently in some trouble with the law.

According to the provincial court docket, Synard is scheduled to appear at court in Grand Bank on Aug. 23 in relation to a charge of uttering a forged document.

Information filed with the provincial court in Grand Bank by RCMP Const. Charlene Kennedy states that between Jan. 1, 2015 and Jan. 1, 2016 Synard knowingly used a forged document to witness an affidavit as if it were genuine. Further details of the charge or how it came about are not known at this time.

The Southern Gazette will have more on this story as it develops.
