PORT AUX BASQUES, N.L. — Jeannette Tobin is always happy to help.

“I like giving back to the community,” said the storeowner.

She readily agreed to sell daffodils for the Canadian Cancer Society this April, and said the society was having trouble finding local volunteers to retail the pretty flower. The annual fundraiser is to raise awareness and benefit cancer patients and their families.

The daffodils are currently only available in Port aux Basques at First Choice Convenience on Main Street. They are sold in bunches for $8. One-hundred per cent of the funds raised will go to the Cancer Society to be used in the fight against cancer.
