The Port aux Basques Junior Mariners will face off against the Central Cataracts in a best-of-seven series beginning on March 6.

The Port aux Basques Junior Mariners will face off against the Central Cataracts in a best-of-seven series beginning on March 6.

It took the Mariners five games to finally defeat the Corner Brook Junior Royals on the weekend. Game five took place that the Bruce II Sports Centre on Sunday afternoon. The Mariners lost game 3 of the series on Friday night, only to come back on Saturday with a 5-2 win at the Pepsi Centre.


The Cataracts will be formidable foes for the Mariners. The central team has a near perfect record of 16 wins, one loss and one tie for the season. Their only loss came from the Mariners.
