Some 140 women from all over Newfoundland and Labrador met last week in Port aux Basques to play their final round of darts for the season.
A meet and greet event kicked things off on Wednesday with local entertainment and food at St. Christophers Hotel.
Thursday saw everyone going to the Royal Canadian Legion where 18 teams, six each of A, B and C, started play and continued on Friday.
At the end of Friday, four teams from each division were eliminated including the Port aux Basques C team, which needed only one game to get in. Stephenville B didnt do well, and Corner Brook A was tied with Southern A team and had to play one game of sudden death which they lost.
On Saturday it was down to the wire with Southern having their A, B and C teams in and the Eastern team having its A and B in, and North Western with A and C in.
The Southern Team were the A champs. The B champs was Eastern and the C champs was Southern.
Saturday evening clued up the tournament with 140 suppers , awards presentation and a dance.
Three Port aux Basques women received honourable mentions as they made the top seven players in C division. They are Gertie Kanes # 7, Rose Allan #5 and Vanessa Keeping #2.
