It was unusual, but few complained. It was just great to see so many familiar faces again.
No matter where one goes in the world, it is always great to be home again.
As Port aux Basques wraps up its come home year celebrations, Burnt Islands is just getting started with its come home year events.
It makes one wonder why coming home is something many of us do only once every few years. If home is where the heart is, why not think about coming home and staying home?
There are always excuses. Perhaps your line of work just isn’t needed in our neck of the woods. That is understandable.
But maybe you could get something in your line of work around here, or start your own business. Sure the pay might not be as great, but the cost of living is a lot less down here too.
What do you really need to get by? A roof over your head, groceries can be bought anywhere. But having friends and family nearby is not something you find by going away.
As more people come home for good, the population grows. More services are needed. It opens opportunities for others to come home. It’s a snowball effect.
If you’ve been thinking about coming home for good, there’s no time like the present. Come home, and stay home. There’s no need to roam.
