Tech tips -
If there is one thing you are going to find on the internet it is pictures. People post everything.
Most of us got some sort of picture editing software with our digital cameras or our color printers and scanners when we bought them. Even Windows comes with crude tools in one form or another and online photo editing sites abound. Just upload your pictures, edit, then save or print. Can't be simpler!
When I write these columns and suggest great free software to you, I often ask myself if there is really any point. You can find the same stuff yourself with a quick Google search. If you wanted to see what photo editing software is available you would just search for photo editing software. If you are cheap like me, then you would search for free photo editing software.
If you run that search however, you will get back pages and pages of different software - probably more options than you would every want to download and try. So, I guess there is still some point to me talking about this stuff. At least you know at least one person has downloaded, installed, used, and would recommend it. Saves you some hassle at least!
This week, I would like to advise you of a bit of photo editing software (free of course) that I find pretty good. It is called PhotoScape and is available at www.photoscape.org Just click the free download tab at the top of the page, and click to download from either cnet or softonic. The executable named PhotoScapeSetup_V3.3 is just over 14 MB. Once downloaded, double click to install.
This free software is loaded with features. All the standard stuff you would expect like resizing, brightness and color, cropping and red eye removal. But it will also do batch editing and renaming of multiple photos which is something I really like.
Couple of features you might not have expected like animated GIF where you make an animated photo from multiple pictures or combine where you make one photo from multiple pictures, are really handy. There is even a splitter that will divide your photo into multiple parts.
This is pretty cool software with more features than I mentioned here. It is so easy to use. If you need help with it, just click the help tab on photoscape.org. There are video tutorials for most features so you don't have to read pages and pages of mumbo jumbo.
