The charges are in relation to the January 2011 death of Christopher Farrell.

Mr. Taylor has already served four months in custody in relation to these charges, meaning he still has 22 months to serve in prison.

He also faces three years probation upon his release, and an eight-year driving prohibition to begin after his release.

Check Monday's edition of The Gulf News for full details on the sentencing.

This is very disappointing. Of course it's impossible to attach value to a victim's life but 26 months does not seem long enough for the death of such a young man.

Another joke of a sentence . I doubt if this young man who was killed would have felt his life was only worth 22 months. But alas we have to let the Morgans of the world off with a slap on the wrist, because ..... he,s... crazy me son. Canadian justice is a joke. 12 yrs would have been a start. I am so sorry for the loss of your son and to the injustice passed on to your family by bleeding hearts.

The RCMP did there job . In my oponion the Newfound land government let the public down. We know judges are always impartial and have a hard job to do However that's why you make the big dollars. My heart goes out to the family as two years is very unjustified for the crime. I don't tknow all the facts and issue here but it see a little light on the sentence .
