Members of the Port aux Basques RCMP responded to a ATV-vehicle collision on the Trans-Canada Highway Sunday approximately 25 kms east of Port aux Basques.

Topics :
Trans-Canada Highway , RCMP

A vehicle was traveling east along the Trans-Canada Highway when an ATV attempted to cross over the highway.

As a result the ATV was struck by the Vehicle and two young females were injured and transported to the Hospital with non life threatening injuries.

The Port aux Basques RCMP would like to remind the public that the use of ATV's on the Provincial Highways is limited to just crossing a highway and that the ATV must be insured to do so.

The RCMP would also like to take this opportunity to remind parents and adults that allowing youth to operate ATV's under the designated ages is a punishable offence. Collisons such as these are very serious in nature, and motorist are asked to pay extra caution when meeting with ATVs anywhere near the roadways.
