The Department of Fisheries and Oceans is closing several salmon rivers on the west coast due to extremely low water levels and extremely high water temperatures.

News Update

The list below is for rivers in salmon fishing area 13. Information on other closed rivers can be found onthe DFO website www.nfl.dfo-mpo.gc.ca or call the Angling Line at 709-772-4423.

135.  Bear Cover River, including Billy’s Pond Brook

Western Brook

137.  Great Codroy River, including Broom Brook, Ryan’s Brook &
