SWEETHEART'S BONSPIEL - Gateway Curling Club will hold its Sweetheart's Bonspiel on Friday and Saturday. Minimum three games per team, four ends per game, maximum 24 teams. CALENDARS - The United Church Women of Port aux Basques will be sponsoring the Community Birthday Calendar again this year. To order your calendar you may call 695-7351, 695-7915 or 695-3376. Deadline to order is Feb. 28.

BREAD AND ROSES - The Gateway Status of Women Council's annual Bread and Roses Dinner is set for 7 p.m. on March 8. Tickets for the event, including a roast turkey dinner, can be purchased at St. Christopher's Hotel or the Gateway Women's Centre. All guests are asked to bring along a non-perishable food item in support of the Food Bank. Deadline for tickets is March 1. For more information, call the Women's Centre at 695-7505.

SWEETS AND SONGS - St. James' High School Sweets and Songs (An afternoon of music and fine desserts) on March 21, from 2:30 - 4:30 p.m., at the school gym. For additional information or tickets please contact the school at 695-3551.

HOSPITAL AUXILLARY - Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Hospital Auxiliary will be hosting the Provincial Conference Sept. 10 and 11, 2010. They are looking for used jeans, Zest beet and pickle jars and any craft supplies that you may have to donate. Items can be dropped off at the Hospital Gift Shop or call 695-9643 or 695-9608.

PEACEFUL COMMUNITIES - Peaceful Communities' regular meeting is every third Tuesday of the month starting at 9 a.m. at Hotel Port aux Basques. All are welcome.

GIFT SHOP - Volunteers are needed to help operate the LeGrow Hospital gift shop, open daily from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Call Mary Mushrow at 695-7210 or Pat King at 695-9608 for details. Also, anyone wishing to knit items for the gift shop, with wool supplied, can call 695-2404 or 695-7210.

PENSIONERS MEETING - A general meeting of CN and MA Pensioners Association will be held on the fourth Thursday of every month at 2 p.m. All members are requested to attend.

ORANGE LODGE - A Royal Williams #20 meeting is held every second Thursday of each month. The LOBA Daughters of Channel 819 meet on the first and third Thursdays of every month. The RBP 1161 meet every fourth Thursday of the month.
