LIGHTHOUSE MEETING - The first annual General Meeting of the Cape Ray Lighthouse Keepers Association Inc. will be held at the Cape Ray Fire Hall on Tuesday at 7 p.m. A board of directors will be nominated. All are welcome to attend.

FREE SEMINAR - Join the Newfoundland and Labrador Organization of Women Entrepreneurs (NLOWE) on Tuesday for a free seminar called, "The Impact of Today's Changing Labour Pool: Recruiting and Retaining the Right People" presented in partnership with Deloitte and Touche LLP. FLEA MARKET - The United Church Board will be having a flea market on Nov. 20 from 7-9 p.m. and Nov. 21, from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. at the HB Richard's Centre.

FREE LUNCH AND LEARN - The Gateway Women's Centre in partnership with Peaceful Communities will be hosting a free Lunch and Learn information session on Gambling ...Keeping It a Safe Bet. 12 p.m., Nov. 26 at St. Christopher's Hotel. Guest speaker will be Yvonne Lane, addictions counsellor. Please confirm attendance by calling 695-7505 by Nov. 20. Space is limited.

BAND FUNDRAISER - St. James' High School Band is selling Christmas tree ornaments as a fundraiser for their band trip. Several styles may be ordered from any member of the school band or by contacting the school at 695-3551. Deadline to place an order is Nov. 20.

MEETING - MAPS will be holding a meeting at the Marine Atlantic Pensioners Trailer at 7 p.m., Nov. 25, for information on the new proposal for Blue Cross. For more information call 695-7163.

FALL SALE - The Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Hospital Auxiliary will be having a fall sale of crafts and baked goods on Nov. 27 at the Grand Bay Mall starting at 10 a.m.

CHRISTMAS PARADE -The annual Port aux Basques Santa Claus Parade is set for Nov. 28 at 6 p.m. and will follow the same route as last year, from the end of Main Street to St. James' Regional High. Parade will feature lighted floats. The Port aux Basques Volunteer Fire Department is accepting donations, including left over non-Halloween branded treats.

TOY AND FOOD DRIVE - Please support our annual Toy and Food Drive by bringing a new toy and/or non-perishable food item to the Santa Claus Parade on Nov. 28. Please remember gift items for our youth! All gifts will go to the Ministerial Association for distribution in the Christmas Hampers and all food will be taken to the Salvation Army Food Bank. The Toy and Food Drive is sponsored by the Gateway Women's Centre. For more information call the Women's Centre at 695-7505.

HOSPITAL AUXILLARY - Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Hospital Auxiliary will be hosting the Provincial Conference Sept. 10 and 11, 2010. They are looking for used jeans, Zest beet and pickle jars and any craft supplies that you may have to donate. Items can be dropped off at the Hospital Gift Shop or call 695-9643 or 695-9608.

BOOKS WANTED - The LeGrow Hospital Auxiliary is looking for used books and pocket novels. To donate, contact Karina at 695-9643 or Pat at 695-9608.

LEAP CENTRE - Monday and Tuesday at 4:30 are cooking nights, game nights will be held on Thursday 6-8 p.m., Friday is activity night from 6-9 p.m. and Saturday is movie nights from 7-9 p.m.

GIFT SHOP - Volunteers are needed to help operate the LeGrow Hospital gift shop, open daily from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Call Mary Mushrow at 695-7210 or Pat King at 695-9608 for details. Also, anyone wishing to knit items for the Hospital Gift Shop, with wool supplied, can call 695-2404 or 695-7210.

PENSIONERS MEETING - A general meeting of CN and MA Pensioners Association will be held on the fourth Thursday of every month at 2 p.m. All members are requested to attend.

ORANGE LODGE - A Royal Williams #20 meeting is held every second Thursday of each month. The LOBA Daughters of Channel 819 meet on the first and third Thursdays of every month. The RBP 1161 meet every fourth Thursday of the month.

CENTRE RENTAL - The HB Richard's Centre is available for rent. For more information call Kelly Penney at 695-3812.

BINGOS

- St. Ann's Centre in Upper Ferry is hosting bingo every Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. and every Sunday at 2:30 p.m. For more information call Phil Downey at 955-2528.

- There is bingo every Monday at the Codroy Valley Fire Hall at 8 p.m. For more information call Rick Moore at 955-2211.

CARD GAMES:

-There is a card game at the CN and MA Pensioners Association building every Tuesday at 2 p.m. Everyone welcome. Come bring a friend.

- Gateway Senior Citizens Club card game is held Mondays at 8:30 p.m.

- There are cards every Tuesday and Thursday at the St. Kevin's Centre in St. Andrew's starting at 8 p.m. For info call Teri Luedee at 955-2042.

-The Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Hospital Auxiliary hosts their regular monthly card games on Tuesdays at the Seniors Club Main Street, at 2 p.m.

-The Lion's Club hosts a card game every Thursday at 8:30 p.m.

- St. Ann's Social Centre in Upper Ferry is hosting a card game every Sunday and Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. For more information call Phil Downey at 955-2528.

- The Royal Canadian Legion holds card games on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 2 p.m. as well there is cribbage on Mondays at 8 p.m.
