Free Lunch and Learn - Sexual Assault Awareness Week. Where do I go if I am a victim of Sexual Assault? What are my legal rights? The Gateway Women's Centre will be hosting a free Lunch and Learn information session on sexual assault awareness on 12 p.m., Sept. 18 at Hotel Port aux Basques. Guest speakers for the event will be representatives from the RCMP and LeGrow Health Centre. Please confirm attendance by calling 695-7505 no later than Sept.11th as space is limited.

PROSTATE CANCER - Prostate cancer is the most common cancer diagnosed in men in Canada, affecting one in every seven men in this province. For 10 years the Prostate Cancer Support Groups of Newfoundland and Labrador have hosted Walk a Mile in His Shoes, a pledge-based walk which raises awareness and encourages men to take action. SENIOR'S CAMP - Killdevil Camp Lomond Bonne Bay for those who are young at heart. Camp begins Sept. 25 at 1 p.m. and ends 2 p.m. Sept. 27 or 28. GRANTS AVAILABLE - The Community Foundation of Newfoundland and Labrador is now accepting applications from registered charities for grants of up to $2,000 to fund projects that deal with a wide range of activities - from health care and education, to social services, the arts and the environment. ORANGE LODGE - A Royal Williams #20 meeting is held every second Thursday of each month. The LOBA Daughters of Channel 819 meet on the first and third Thursdays of every month. The RBP 1161 meet every fourth Thursday of the month.
