WOMEN in BUSINESS - The Newfoundland and Labrador Organization of Women Entrepreneurs (NLOWE) is offering two free internet-based information sessions on Wednesday. Information on starting a business will be from 9-9:30 a.m. and information about growing a business will be from 9:30-10 a.m. This webinar training is open to the public but pre-registration is required. FOOD DRIVE - The staff at the Bank of Montreal are having a food drive for the local Salvation Army Food Bank from now till May 20. Items may be dropped off at the branch during regular business hours.

SPRING SALE - The St. James' ACW will hold a spring sale on May 5 at 2 p.m. in the memorial centre. Cold plates will be available for eat-in or take-out. For more information please call Kay at 695-3231 or Diane at 695-3777 or any ACW member. A card game will follow at 8:30 p.m.

PENSIONERS' MEETING - The newly formed Marine Atlantic Pensioners Association (MAPS) will meet on May 13 at 7 p.m. at the CN Trailer. The group was formed to deal with issues concerning retired boat and wharf workers, including insurance and boat passes. For more information call 695-7163.

MEETING - The Community Employment Corporation will meet on May 19 at 7 p.m. in the boardroom. For more information call Cavell at 695-3215.

RELAY FOR LIFE - The Port aux Basques annual Relay for Life is June 13. Let's get together and celebrate cancer survivors and honour those living with or touched by cancer. To purchase a luminary candle in memory of a loved one or in honour of a survivor contact Lorna Coffin 695-7188 or Sue Osmond 695-2539. VOLUNTEERS NEEDED - Communities in Schools requires for volunteers for the Kids Eat Smart breakfast club, accelerated readers and independent reader programs. For more information contact Peggy Coleman at LeGallais Memorial School in Isle aux Morts at 698-3722.

SCHOOL VOLUNTEERS - Communities In Schools requires volunteers for the Breakfast Program and Early Morning Reading Program. For more information contact Stephanie Kinslow or Evelyn Clarke at 695-3001, ext. 19.

BOOKS WANTED - The LeGrow Hospital Auxiliary is looking for used books and pocket novels. To donate, contact Karina at 695-9643 or Pat at 695-9608.

LEAP CENTRE - Monday and Tuesday at 4:30 are cooking nights, game nights will be held on Thursday 6-8 p.m., Friday is activity night from 6-9 p.m. and Saturday is movie nights from 7-9 p.m.

GIFT SHOP - Volunteers are needed to help operate the LeGrow Hospital gift shop, open daily from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Call Mary Mushrow at 695-7210 or Pat King at 695-9608 for details. Also, anyone wishing to knit items for the Hospital Gift Shop, with wool supplied, can call 695-2404 or 695-7210.

PEACEFUL COMMUNITIES - Peaceful Communities meet at 9 a.m. on the third Tuesday of the month at the Hotel Port aux Basques. For more information call 695-7505.

STORY HOUR - Story hour at the library is held on Saturdays at 10:30 a.m. All preschool children welcome when accompanied by a parent.

PENSIONERS MEETING - A general meeting of CN and MA Pensioners Association will be held on the fourth Thursday of every month at 2 p.m. All members are requested to attend.

TOASTMASTERS - Toastmasters International meetings are held at 6 p.m. on the first and third Thursday of each month at St. Christopher's Hotel. All are welcome to attend.

ORANGE LODGE - A Royal Williams #20 meeting is held every second Thursday of each month. The LOBA Daughters of Channel 819 meet on the first and third Thursdays of every month. The RBP 1161 meet every fourth Thursday of the month.

CENTRE RENTAL - The HB Richard's Centre is available for rent. For more information call Kelly Penney at 695-3812.

BINGOS

- St. Ann's Centre in Upper Ferry is hosting bingo every Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. and every Sunday at 2:30 p.m. For more information call Phil Downey at 955-2528.
