FOOD DRIVE - The staff at the Bank of Montreal will hold a food drive for the local Salvation Army Food Bank from Monday to May 20. Items may be dropped off at the branch during regular business hours.

EARTH DAY - Celebrate the 39th International Earth Day on Wednesday with Ocean Net and its 'friends of beaches' network throughout the province. FREE TRAINING - The Newfoundland and Labrador Organization of Women Entrepreneurs (NLOWE) is offering a free, one-hour training Webinar called "Detecting and deterring fraud in small businesses" on Wednesday at 9 a.m. The training is open to the public but pre-registration is required. FLEA MARKET - The United Church Board will hold a flea market on Friday from 7-9 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. in the United Church hall.

WOMEN in BUSINESS - The Newfoundland and Labrador Organization of Women Entrepreneurs (NLOWE) is offering two free internet-based information sessions on April 29. Information on starting a business will be from 9-9:30 a.m. and information about growing a business will be from 9:30-10 a.m. This webinar training is open to the public but pre-registration is required. SPRING SALE - The St. James' ACW will hold a spring sale on May 5 at 2 p.m. Cold plates will be available for eat-in or take-out.

PENSIONERS' MEETING - The newly formed Marine Atlantic Pensioners Association (MAPS) will meet on May 13 at 7 p.m. at the CN Trailer. The group was formed to deal with issues concerning retired boat and wharf workers, including insurance and boat passes. For more information call 695-7163.

RELAY FOR LIFE - The Port aux Basques annual Relay for Life is June 13. Let's get together and celebrate cancer survivors and honour those living with or touched by cancer.
