BAKE SALE - The Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Hospital Auxiliary will host a bake sale on Thursday starting at 10 a.m. at the Grand Bay Mall. Come and support your hospital.
SURVIVORS BANQUET - The Canadian Cancer Society Relay for Life survivors banquet is scheduled for June 13. The banquet will be held at the Bruce II Centre in the curling room at 5 p.m. All survivors who plan to attend are urged to pre-register. Our committee will be at the Grand Bay Mall on Friday, from 12 to 5 p.m., during which time we will be handling registration, selling luminaries and selling tickets on a quilt. Survivors unable to drop by the mall, we ask that they phone Kay Osmond at 695-2541 or Myrtle Stranglemore at 695-2460.

FOOD DRIVE - The staff at the Bank of Montreal will be holding a food drive for the local Salvation Army Food Bank from April 20 to May 20. Items may be dropped off at the branch from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m., Monday to Friday.
EARTH DAY - Celebrate the 39th International Earth Day on April 22 with Ocean Net and its 'friends of beaches' network throughout the provicne. Get active and participate in cleaning up more of our community beaches and shorelines! Schools, groups and individuals who lead clean-ups are eligible to win $1,000 in Ocean Net's "Milestone 2009" draw in October. Don't forget to send us pictures for our webpage. SPRING SALE - The St. James' ACW will hold a spring sale on May 5 at 2 p.m. Cold plates will be available for eat-in or take-out.
PENSIONERS' MEETING - The newly formed Marine Atlantic Pensioners Association (MAPS) will meet on May 13 at 7 p.m. at the CN Trailer. The group was formed to deal with issues concerning retired boat and wharf workers, including insurance and boat passes. For more information call 695-7163.

RELAY FOR LIFE - The Port aux Basques annual Relay for Life is June 13. Let's get together and celebrate cancer survivors and honour those living with or touched by cancer. STORY HOUR - Story hour at the library is held on Saturdays at 10:30 a.m. All preschool children welcome when accompanied by a parent.
PENSIONERS MEETING - A general meeting of CN and MA Pensioners Association will be held on the fourth Thursday of every month at 2 p.m. All members are requested to attend.
TOASTMASTERS - Toastmasters International meetings are held at 6 p.m. on the first and third Thursday of each month at St. Christopher's Hotel. All are welcome to come to our meeting and enjoy a great evening of education, reward and comradeship.
ORANGE LODGE - A Royal Williams #20 meeting is held every second Thursday of each month. The LOBA Daughters of Channel 819 meet on the first and third Thursdays of every month. The RBP 1161 meet every fourth Thursday of the month.
